This is my “standard” budget. In reality it fluctuates month to month, but this is what I start with. This is also based on 2 paychecks, so there are two months that have an “extra” paycheck.

Savings:
401k: $425 (sometimes more) + partial match
Health Savings Account: $140
Roth IRA: $308 (lump sum in Jan, so still maxed overall)
Long Term Savings (efund): $350

Living:
Rent: $1425
Insurance: $105 (car and renter)
Gas: $140 $165 (and climbing)
Grocery: $145
Utilities: $45
Student Loan: $141 (roughly 4.5%, tax deductible)

Non-essentials:
Cable/Internet: $56
Restaurants: $65
Clothes: $70
Entertainment: $50
Home: $25 (mostly laundry)
Personal: $30 (haircuts, shampoo, make-up, etc.)
Gifts/Gift Fund: $60 (goes into savings if not needed for that month)
Car/Car Fund: $50
Travel/Travel Fund: $100
Miscellaneous: $100 (ideally this goes to savings. In reality, it goes where needed.)
