24 days

November 17, 2009

In 24 days, I’m supposed to have everything done.  I’m supposed to keep up on my 4 hours of lecture a week and go to work, but the big stress is my two large projects.

One of them is smaller — 40% or something of my grade — and I’m not really sold on the concept I came up with, but I’m going to go with it and call it good enough.

The other one is larger and the concept is fine, but making progress and results is tough.  It is only a 10 page (minimum) paper (not a thesis or anything!) but I’ve been spending a lot of time on it.  And I”ll be spending a lot of time on it.

I have 24 days left.  Of those, 8 are non-work days, and of those 8, 1 is Thanksgiving.  On work days, I can usually get 2-4 hours in.  Unless I have a lecture to watch.  Or if I feel dead.  Which I usually do.

Oh, my budget sucks lately and I don’t want to talk about it.  But I promise we’ll talk about it eventually, along with some 2010 goals.

    You can do it!

Is there any way you can take a day off near the end to work on it? And at least there’s the week off at the end of the year, so you can look forward to that!

Maybe — if i need to i will. But I’m trying to hoard my vacation hours. I am terrible at accumulating them, it seems, and i’m supposed to go on a nice honeymoon and get married next year.

I cannot wait until Christmas break! I’m taking 2 extra days (mostly do to airlin prices) so it’ll be nearly 2 weeks

I hear you on the vacation hoarding, I want to take a few days off before the wedding plus a nice long honeymoon. But I’m burning some right now due to the house construction, I can’t put in 8 hours at work while this is going on. I’m sure you can pull it all off, lots of luck.

You’re sooo close, and it will feel so great once you’re done. You WILL get through it!
