Lacking the pure dedication of Wellheeled, I decided to do my 30 day shred with 30 non-consecutive days. With reasons (excuses?) ranging from having my dad staying in our small apt for a few nights to not getting home until nearly midnight on a work night, I’ve only done 3 days since last Monday! Tonight will surely be day 4!
I also created a new motivation for the goal. I’ve been wanting to get a facial FOREVER, but always think the cost is too high. However… I’m going to treat myself to one once I:
- a) Finish 30 days of the 30 day shred
- b) Run 9 miles (pending knee pain — otherwise put forth a real effort)
My knee started hurting after my 5.5 mile run last weeknd — I probably overdid it on the mileage. This time it was my LEFT knee, not my right knee like when I had crappier shoes. I should see if I can get some custom orthotics. I think my right arch needs the support, but maybe my left one is over supported in my current shoe? I have no idea though, really. Maybe I just need to go more slowing in building milage.
Anyway, it is fairly minor at this point, so I’ve been icing it and trying shorter runs. But I don’t want to push myself to hard just so I can get a facial. In the meantime, I’m siphoning off money into my “personal” fund both for the facial and for some likely pre-wedding stuff.
